Chocolate Shortbread

Today I made this. Yes, amidst all the blogging I've done today, I actually had time to bake! This is great to make when you have no eggs or vanilla in the house and need a quick chocolate fix. I didn't make the icing, it is divine on it's own or with a little melted chocolate dipped or drizzled. We cut out little heart shapes(and a sleigh for Max) when it came out of the oven and it looked so much more appetizing than the picture shown here. Warning, save some of the dough for baking, you might eat it all out of the bowl like I almost did.

OH MY GOSH. Mmmmm.... I want to lick the computer screen.

Fred and I have been discussing shortbread. Please share your opinion--

We think it would be better made with European cultured butter. We've been trying to figure out why it's just so much better when you buy it in England. Is that why? Is it the cultured, higher fat butter? Help us. You might be the only one who knows.

You were one busy girl today in the kitchen and at the screen!!! You have your priorities completley straight!!!! I think you need to mail heart shaped ones for our family Valentines.... the balance out the cinamon red-hot frosting...

Jenni, please, please come back to us. I need a neighbor like you again. Nobody shares their baked goods around here. I'm begging. You could make me a little care package. Think of me as your friend the missionary serving in the Westchester Stake. Work with me, here Jenni.
