Grace

A little comic relief for today. This past Sunday I was taking my son out of the nursery at church. There is a baby gate at the door, a new baby gate, a much taller than the old baby gate, gate. I am holding my toddler in my right arm. On my left arm are a few bags, coats, papers, etc. I proceed to step over said baby gate to make our exit so as not to let any of the little nursery people out. You can see where this is going...pencil skirt+high heels+big baby in arms+new, way too high baby gate =
It was all a blur to me, all I remember thinking is, "I'm going down and there is nothing I can do!" I only remember seeing my shoe dangling in the air above my head and my little one looking at me like, "What is wrong with you? You are NOT supposed to fall with me in your arms!" I quickly came to and made my graceful exit only to find my husband on the other side of the door, snickering! Of course, I burst out laughing with him, but I wasn't sure who I felt more sorry for, me, or the missionaries who happen to catch a glimpse!

Oh I am sorry for your misfortune. I laughed so hard, though. It's the exact thing that would happen to me. I love that "I am going down and there is nothing I can do..."

I am sure that even crashing to the ground, that you were graceful and beautiful every moment. :)

That is hilarious! I'm so sorry. I love your description of what Christian must have been thinking at the moment. So funny.

Miss you!

A true "mom-juggling" act gone bad! Glad you are alright and could laugh during recovery!

Remember when I fell down the steps at the Scarsdale chapel just a few months after we moved in? Then, while carrying Caroline, I fell down the Schmidt's front cement steps. I consider this a special club, one that you are now a card-carrying member of. Your welcome kit should arrive in the mail shortly. I especially recommend the use of many Hello Kitty band-aids.

Loved it...Just sad I wasn't standing next to Mo laughing...

This should introduce you properly in the ward. How funny! But so glad nobody is hurt!

To tell you the truth I think the Elders hand out in that spot for good reason. I have scaled the stupid thing now more than once in more than one combination of knee-length skirt and high heels. And I know for a fact that though I have yet to actually fall, a good deal of modesty is compromised in the process each Sunday! I'm sorry I missed your fall.

Very funny account. I also like the "...there's nothing I can do." (That picture is awesome.)

Why is it always Mom that goes down?

oh my gosh! I laughed as soon as I saw the photo and then was like 'oh no' when I started reading.

I am so glad you guys are the type of family to laugh about it- Mike would have cried tears laughing at me if that happened to me.

glad you are ok

I am SOOOO sorry you fell! Jenni! I love you so much! It was so fun to visit you guys. I'm glad that you have a good memory of the fall (you and Robert laughing) and not a bad injury. You are great. I love you Jenni! What am I going to do without seeing you for a long time now?
