Give Peace a Chance
When Dorie Greenspan came out with her latest book, Baking: From My Home To Yours, one recipe, in particular stood out to me, World Peace Cookies. With a name like that, how could you not be tempted? I had to make them, Pronto. They are a bit of an obsession, one of my many. You just have to make them for yourself. They are not your ordinary chocolate chocolate chunk cookie. They are a sable (SAH-blay)meaning sand like in texture, they are crumbly and buttery and salty and chocolatey, you'll see. Grab a glass of milk.

can i say that my mouth is watering right now?! (can i also say - love your blog! don't you love it when total strangers post?)
It's rainy and overcast here...World Peace Cookies sound like they'd be perfect to perk things up around here.
yes, i do love it when strangers comment on my blog.
note* definitely use fleur de sel in these cookies
These sound so fabulous!
I committed myself to Weight Watchers and then pulled up your blog to these! OH help me.
Yumm! I thought of you yesterday, found a jamie oliver cookbook at di to my delight. Wow, the boy knows how to make a book. A picture with every recipe, that's what I like to see!
You know I love supporting a cause... for World Peace, how can I not make these!
oh, I've been wanting to check out her book. I'm so glad for this recipe, it looks like a keeper.
Those look so good!!!!!!!
So Jenni, I made about 3 batches of these. I was wondering what kind of chocolate you were using. I used those new Hershey's dark bars (the ones I posted, but dark instead) and that was the best, then I used a Lindt bittersweet chocolate.. kinda yuck. Then, I used some Lindt and some Guittard green mint chips... yummo!!! So, I was wondering what you like best?
